Palm Beach Stakes

The Palm Beach Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. A Grade III event open to three-year-old horses, it is contested on turf over a current distance of 1 and 1/16th miles (2015). Run in mid March, the Palm Beach Stakes currently offers a purse of $150,000.
2010 winner Paddy O'Prado went on to finish third in the Kentucky Derby, sixth in the Preakness, first in the Secretariat, and sixth in the Breeders' Cup Classic in his three-year-old season. He finished his career with $1.7 million in earnings.
1993 winner Kissin Kris went on to finish seventh in the Kentucky Derby, second in the Belmont Stakes, first in the Haskell, and third in the Breeders' Cup Classic in his three-year-old season. He finished his career with $1.6 million in earnings.
The race was run in two divisions in 1968, 1969, and 1971.
